In mid-September, the Swiss Excellence Product Awards in the categories of SMEs and startups were presented at the Technopark Winterthur. This award recognizes companies with the best innovative Swiss products. A fantastic and exciting event with many invited guests.
In the lead-up to the awards ceremony, the jury’s task was to review the numerous applications and visit the potential Product Award candidates. Ultimately, the deciding factors for reaching the finals were the level of innovation, the value creation potential, and the quality of the business model and marketing concept.
Among the three startup finalists, Rhovica Neuroimaging AG was chosen as the winner! Their patented SoNav™ system enables navigated and therefore safer placement of a brain catheter with real-time monitoring in cases of acute cerebral hemorrhage. Treatment can also be performed directly at the patient’s bedside in the emergency room, allowing for rapid treatment of acute, life-threatening cerebral hemorrhages.
In the SME category , Rigitrac Traktorenbau AG came out on top! Their specialty is the production of agricultural vehicles – particularly tractors with a fully electric body and drive – sustainably and with low emissions. This convinced the jury.

The award ceremony was framed by an engaging presentation from National Councillor Andri Silberschmidt-Buhofer on the importance of product innovation for Switzerland as an industrial location, a World Café session in collaboration with genisuisse , and networking and discussion over drinks to conclude the event.
